  • Check engine lamp on. Verified complaint. Scanned 2 separate faults/problems. P0430 and P0328. Fault P0430 Bank 2 Catalyst Below Efficiency. A/F sensor working correctly, O2 sensor ranges good, fuel trims good. No exhaust leaks. There is a TSB to updated PCM for P0430 and 4 other codes but you can see voltage drop on bank 2 O2 sensor. Test and diagnosed failed bank 2 Catalyst. Need to replace then retest. Also recommend PCM updates. Fault P0328 for Knock sensors. They are under intake and needs disassembly. Most likely failed knock sensors. May need sub harness. Will need fuel injection seal kit for GDI injectors as injectors have to be removed to replace knock sensors. -Recommend knock sensors and sub harness for knock sensors. Recommend spark plugs with repair as intake manifold has to be removed to do spark plugs and knock sensors. Vehicle is also due for valve adjustment. Recommend valve adjustment as intake manifold has to be removed to perform valve adjustment. -Recommend starting with performing software update for p0430 code. Does not guarantee to fix code but per TSB this is where we need to start. -BOTH KNOCK SENSORS AND SUB HARNESS FOR KNOCK SENSORS – REMOVED & REPLACED -PERFORMED VALVE ADJUST ON BOTH BANKS, INTAKE & EXHAUST PER MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS -SPARK PLUGS – REMOVED & REPLACED -VALVE COVER GASKETS WITH SPARK PLUG TUBE SEALS – REMOVED & REPLACED -REQUIRED REMOVING INTAKE MANIFOLD – REPLACED UPPER AND LOWER INTAKE GASKETS
  • SOFTWARE UPDATE

  • UNABLE TO VERIFY CUSTOMER CONCERN. DID FIND DOOR FOR CABIN AIR FILTER NOT SECURE. CABIN AIR FILTER IS DIRTY. LOOKED WITH MIRROR INSIDE OF BLOWER FAN ASSEMBLY AND DID NOT SEE ANY DEBRIS. ROAD TEST VEHICLE TWICE TO SEE IF NOISE WOULD OCCUR OVER BUMPS OR DIPS, DID NOT DUPLICATE CUSTOMER CONCERN WITH FAN NOISE AND SPEED. LET VEHICLE IDLE FOR EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME AND WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE CUSTOMER CONCERN. REPLACED CABIN AIR FILTER. THERE IS A TICKING NOISE AT LOW SPEEDS, CUSTOMER SAID THAT IS NOT THE NOISE CUSTOMER IS CONCERNED WITH. IF SYMPTOMS REOCCUR, WILL NEED FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS.

  • AT TIME CUSTOMER SAYS HE HAD TO COAST DOWN TO 35MPH BEFORE HE IS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. CUSTOMER SAYS ENGINE STAYS ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. -Test drove, verified customer concern. Traction control activating on highway. Found bracket that was previously fractured in last inspection has broke and is now missing bolt & nut. Steering rack is not being held stable into vehicle. Steering rack is leaking and has play at both inner tie rod ends (notated at last inspection.) Steering rack bushings are oil soaked and deteriorating allowing excessive movement. Also found vehicle to have bad axle vibration under acceleration and on freeway. -Needs new bracket for steering rack and new bolt & nut. Recommend replacing steering rack due to play and excessive movement in bushings and inner tie rod ends. Recommend replacing both left and right axle shafts due to axle vibration. Will need an alignment once repairs are done due to geometry of steering being changed with new bracket and steering rack. -STEERING RACK – REMOVED & REPLACED – TRANSFERRED OVER OUTER TIE ROD ENDS TO NEW RACK. INSTALLED NEW FLUID. VERIFIED FLUID LEVEL. AFTER REPAIR AND ALIGNMENT. TEST DROVE VEHICLE. STEERING ISSUE IS RESOLVED AND THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH. VEHICLE STILL HAS A SEVERE AXLE VIBRATIONS. RECOMMEND REPLACING BOTH FRONT AXLE SHAFTS TO GET RID OF AXLE VIBRATION. CUSTOMER DECLINED REPAIRS AT THIS TIME
  • VEHICLE HAS A SEVERE AXLE VIBRATION. CUSTOMER DECLINED AXLE REPAIR AT THIS TIME.
